That was nothing. For safety's sake, I once again tasted a whisky known to me, but it tastes normal, but it does not fit my taste buds. I'm not getting warm with the Old Deer.
    • Nose
sweet, malty, a little peach compote, white chocolate, cinnamon ... but there's also an artificial touch ... cheap sweets, even a hint of gin
    • Taste
Chocolate, pepper, cinnamon, decent wood, but pretty hot (youthful?), And there are those artificial flavors ... and juniper, too? Bitter
    • Finish
      medium long, hot and bitter

Langatun "Old Deer", original bottling, 40% alc.
    Distillery: Distillery Langatun
    Extending: Sherry + Chardonnay barrels
Region: Switzerland ... Nose: Mild sweetness, different fruit flavors. Including mushy apricots and ripe melons. Add some vanilla and a few earthy overtones. It presents, among other tomato plants and moist cigar tobacco (such as a poorly ventilated humidor). Palate: Ripe fruits, more acidic than the nose. Citrus fruits, blood oranges. Then honey and various herbs, on the palate is always dry. Finish: medium and dry. Subtle fruit flavors and a light spiciness, rounded off with a creamy sweetness. Conclusion: Discreet, unobtrusive recommended. 81/100 points (tasted 2015)
Thanks to the distillery for the sample.

It is a 100% barley malt whisky made from a mixture of unsmoked barley malt of the best provenance and fermented with a selected English Stout yeast. Already during the fermentation of the malt mash, numerous vegetable and fruity aromas can be detected in the fermentation cellar with the nose, which will be found again in the later end product. With the triple distillation we give the "Old Deer" its incomparably delicate and soft malt-stressed taste. The aging in sherry and chardonnay barrels gives the "Old Deer" an extraordinary complexity, fruity notes and an elegant finish. (Langatun.ch)
