Whisky Reviews for Glen Ord 1965 TCC

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.18 points

  1. Calmar scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

A powerful and deep molt, a calm and complex aroma of aged whisky gives way, quite unexpectedly, with a powerful and tart oak-grain taste / finish, a set of derivatives characteristic of a young product, but here the age is felt.
    • Nose
Open, wet, first nose - spicy oak, sherry; noble wood, red wine, furniture lacquer, floral notes, a little wool, animal tones, polish, raisins, foliage, sweet rotting fruits, new car interior, dry herbs, medicinal notes.
    • Taste
Powerful, rich, oak tart dominant, lemon peel, lac notes, wax, polish, bitterness of young bark, savory cocoa, nuts, Koch-i-Nor pencil.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, oak, lemon, grain, ginger, bitter bark, coffee, bitter chocolate, nuts, grapefruit crust.

  4. hsmithjr scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

It's good, but I expected more out of this one.
    • Nose
Sweet pears.  Ripe golden apples.  Bits of citrus peels.  Varnish. Easter jelly beans.
    • Taste
Rich and sweet.  Yellow raisins.  Sweet lemons. Saccharine.  That's about it.
    • Finish
Medium and thin.  Old chestnuts.  More saccharine (like after drinking a diet soda).
