Great and mega complex. Would be for under or just under 200 € a really cool malt. But so the price is just too expensive.

  5. Achany scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

fruity, dignified, well balanced, incredible easy to drink and enjoy. this dram needs some time in the glas, dark fruits, some cherry, some sweet whine, moldy, a bit leathery, dry, add some spices, some malt, fruity, dried cereals,. Finish could be a bit longer for this one but still very fine. Fantastic dram!

An incredibly intense, mature and voluminous malt - great barrel selection - 22 years of maturity - not very cheap, but also a top malt!

    • Finish

      long warm finish; in the end, berries and oak;

  7. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Violent, very special thing, because the rating can vary widely, I like experimental stuff, especially when it comes down so hearty.
    • Nose
The influence of wine is noticeable, gum, raspberry jelly, berry mix, creme brulee slightly burnt, leather, some dusty dresser, tobacco and trail mix, clove, nutmeg, some cherries
    • Taste
Rumrosines, wild cherries and raspberries directly from the bushes, some fresh coffee, soft leather, nutmeg, cloves, black pepper, gummy bears (red), licorice and camphor, tannins and a touch of match, tea, oak
    • Finish
Long, slightly bitter and dry with the oak, coffee, incense sticks and berries with seeds and peel

  8. Bosi scored this whisky 82 points Specialist

A great, albeit hard-to-grasp nose leads to a very wine-like taste and finish. The Black Art again confirms that wine barrel aged whisky is absolutely not my case. Nevertheless, I recognize the good craft.
    • Nose
The nose is characterized by a difficult to differentiate but very soft fruit mix, with cherries and raisins dominate. Add scents of fresh burnt sherry casks, vanilla, cream, tobacco and nuts.
    • Taste
The taste is dry with red fruits, tea and a lot of oak. Over time, the whisky goes in the direction of brandy and coffee. The wine barrel has definitely done its job, as evidenced by the dominant acidity.
    • Finish
The finish is very long, slightly bitter with a touch of glue and the whisky sticks to the palate.

  10. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

The nose is very complex, the mouth after the lovely nose then surprisingly oaky, but that does not bother. A complex and well matured whisky.
    • Nose
The first impression is very fruity, peach, beautifully ripe, sweetish, almonds, light marzipan, chocolate, very creamy and intense, no stinging, also slightly herbaceous, some cherry, also a hint of licorice, tobacco, overall very complex and pleasant
    • Taste
oily, pronounced oak in the mouth, bittersweet, nuts, full-bodied, but also sweetness, which gives off a nice counterpart, peach, creamy, tart, a little grapefruit, getting tart, the woody note is very present, but not too much
    • Finish
still peach, but less sweet, getting drier, fruit bowl, a few nuts, long-lasting
