Nose: Very nice and classic, buttered apples, pears, malt sweetness with some wood to spice things up. some cinnamon too, and wee white pepper.

Palate: Malty, with some pepper, then the apple and bitter and spicy wood makes the entry. apple crumble, butter toasted bread, getting dryer with wood.

Finish : Dry. butter. toast. wood. with the apple traces.

This just lovely. middle of the way, classic, malty sweet, with those apples. I very much like this one. Not mind blowing, but very well made, but not something you can not get from the OB 14 which is a lot cheaper. (40 EUR, vs. this one that costs about 70).

A good and sweet Arran, devoid of any kind of finish, for which I am grateful. A tad expensive though, around 70 EUR.
    • Nose
The nose is sweet on malt, vanilla, flowers, pineapple, apple and peach. Some marzipan and something that reminds me of cuberdons, a typical purple candy from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Belgium with a soft sugar filling. Nice!
    • Taste
The palate is creamy, almost fatty, with the same associations as on the nose. But now the spices come out in full force. Pepper, cinnamon and ginger. The oak speaks, but does not shout.
    • Finish
The finish is slightly drying and a bit zesty.
