Whisky Reviews for Lagavulin 1979
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 91.25 points
- Tasting Notes:
- For me the complexities have been diminished rather than enhanced. It's a good drink and may be more acceptable for newbies but since when did all whisky have to be acceptable to everyone?
Woodier, more firm and slightly vinous. The black fruits are now dried, less definition on the nose.
The smoke seems to have been shunted forward. A good mix of rich spirit, dried fruit.
Thick and only lightly smoked. Generous and sweet.
- Some prices are from another world.
Like this one here: Whisky Exchange offers it for 950GBP.
On Whisky auction the auction prices have been between 335 and 655 € (537GBP) in the time period from 07/2013 to 12/2013. Bottle size 70cl and 100cl.
755€ in the April Auction 2015
- A very pleasant whisky, remember that the first ones came out and that we all where thrilled to get them and taste them back in the late nineties.
Peat smoke and marmoleum (Forbo manufacturers).
Peaty, salty, gentle and light pepperish
Long with some sweet smokey/peppery layers in the back.
