Whisky Reviews for Glenmorangie 18-year-old

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.60 points

  1. Lu Cifer scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

    Aroma:
A touch of alcohol, light fruit, sherry and oak. A hint of orange and vanilla.
The alcoholic note fades away after a while, now it appears fruity, slightly sweet, pleasant and balanced.

    Taste:
Easy start, slightly spicy and a bit spicy, sweet,
Spices and wood tones, now also fruity with sherry and some orange.

    finish:
Sweet-tart, slightly spicy, warming, initially astringent with oak, then with fruity components,
fairly balanced, at the end pleasantly fruity with sherry and some oak with a medium finish.

Its a good dram, but a manufactured taste for me, lots of caramel, don`t get me wrong not like a blend or a Dalmore but its just there all the same.

An easy drinking malt and one I have always enjoyed.
    • Nose
Caramel, toffee, buttercream, wafers and a touch of walnut and a few meat notes
    • Taste
Thick, chewy and resinous with a few balsamic notes mixed in with caramel and cream. It like eating a caramel sponge cake
    • Finish
Approaching medium, with the caramel sweetness to the end

  4. The Macallan scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

A great whisky for nice Summer evenings.
    • Nose
Pungy, warm malty aroma, slightly briny, peaches, above all something sweetness but in the end briny (reduced: flowery notes, strong winey influences, orange zest, still briny and choped wood very nice).
    • Taste
Gentle, slightly bitter, light sharp, light salty, some cookie like aroma's (reduced: explosion of softness, little fruity, spicy and lovely).
    • Finish
Long, soft, little bitterness, spicy devellopment.
