Westport is often described as Glenmorangie with a teaspoon of Glen Moray.
    But most likely…just pure Glenmorangie!

    thank you Michael :)

it's great to drink, it's delicious

    the barrel dominates extremely

Excitement and sophistication are completely lacking
    • Nose
sweet raisins, leather, dust, walnut shells

      quite a bit of alcohol,

      caramel chocolate
    • Taste
      dark notes, chocolate, caramel, walnut,

Giant (sweets), light sweet raisins, espresso
    • Finish
      slightly bitter, dark notes

      the espresso, chocolate

Caramel appears. On taste raisins more visible, but I can't get this proof, seems lighter on proof and mounthfull at the same time
    • Finish
      89 89
Finish sweet and intense, long and rich, a bit dry

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Ultra Lots of sherry and a lot of oak, quite tobacco and tart notes. That's it, but he can do it really well.

  5. Segens scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Wonderful, excellent winter dram. Sherry bomb! The only critic you could give is the intense alcohol which could have been implemented better.
    • Nose
Great nose! A lot of sherry, milk chocolate, cherries, tobacco
    • Taste
Lovely!!! The alcohol is strong but it delivers the full taste of the nose!
    • Finish
And the finish is very nice as well. You also have some vanilla and a bit of bitterness which is not negative.

    perfect x-mas dram!! yummy :-)

  7. alectron scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
sherry, molasses/treacle, wet oak & tobacco, red grapes (slightly over their best before day...), granite and a slight bitter note (86)
W water: a bit more on tobacco and some autumn leaves giving it a bit more elegance, also some citronat/succade which increases with more water up to showing some faint sour/lemon-y notes plus some  vanilla/caramel. (87)
    • Taste
thick/oily, pleasant bitter-sweetness, alc noticable here but well bound and very drinkable at +60%, bit strong on young wood, (85)
W water: much less sherry heavy, sweet sour, vanilla and citronat/succade. (85)
    • Finish
long, raisin concentrate (if there were such a thing), a tad chalky/talcum, (86)
W water: malty, with some tobacco again and a faint sour lemon tint . (85)
