Hm... Having tried a wide range of the distillery bottlings, this Glenturret bottling feels younger than 34yo and it is indeed, highly drinkable. Feels like chillfiltered and not real concentrated on the palate, hence really easy going, you can have a few glasses in no time. Maybe i expected, a littttttle more... just because it's 34yo...Oh well...
Still a good dream for sure!

Oh yea...this doesn't need water gentlemen... bottled at pretty much the ideal strength, trust me.

    A very nice dram.
    • Nose
Honey, malty, lots of cereals, vanilla, dried fruit, Granny Smith apple, a little bitterness.

With water: no noticeable differences (maybe a bit more cereals)
    • Taste
Creamy attack on the malt, then a lot of fruits (citrus, peach, pear), a little honey, some sweet spices, a bit of bitterness.

With water: enhances the fruity sweetness.
    • Finish
Long, drier (but the fruits are still present) and a little woody.

    Tasting Notes by SCOMA :

Aroma: Sweet grains and vanilla. Light lemonade fruitiness with a lot of honey. A touch of heather, citrus and almonds.

Taste: Sweet barley, soft herbs and citrus notes. Sugar, honey and marzipan. Candied peach.

Finish: Long, with candied lemon and vanilla. Slight dryness with herbs.

In the truest sense of the word a round thing. Anyone looking for rough edges here will probably search in vain. But if you want a smooth and well-matured, sweet malt for the summer time, is definitely in good hands. Not a malt that will be remembered forever, but one that certainly has its qualities.
    • Nose
Wow, that's cute! A thick grape sweets spreads in the nose, subtle notes of almonds and marzipan. After a while, the smell of dry autumn leaves mixes under it. A very mild or soft representative of his guild, who only opens his doors to further odor rooms. Here then something green, but not really saeuerlicher apple and dry sand cake. From time to time, I imagine to notice a bit of smoke, but if so, these are the smallest traces. No cracker, but a rather elegant and fine Glenturret. Nice nose, although a bit "pep" for a praise in the highest notes is missing.
    • Taste
While the barrel or its wood in the nose has remained completely hidden to me, it appears more clearly on the palate. However, for that reason alone one would not be able to conclude that he was halfway old. Rather, the suppleness points to the more than 30 Lenze. He stays sweet and gets over stronger than when he's still nosy. With water, I would be more careful, at least he does not turn out with a whole new face.
    • Finish
Solid in length, very sweet and quite supple on the palate.

This is a very fruity whisky!!  OMG!!  The pineapples just jumped into my nose and into my mouth and danced around some more.  You like pineapple with a dash of alcohol?  Go for it.

This is a very good whisky, carrying the age with dignity. A sporty
bloke in his thirties. Now I understand why MoS bottled both casks at the same
time. They are two totally different Glenturret, like children with one
different parent, if you take my meaning. This one will set you back 170 EUR,
though. But it is quite a step up from the 1980.
    • Nose
In contrast with the 1980, the nose on this Glenturret is much more
grain and nut oriented. Think breakfast biscuits and almonds. A lot of vanilla
and honey, this time around. No carton box, but all the fruit. Tangerine and a
hint of banana. Dried pineapple, as well. After a few moments, some light brown
sugar emerges. Very softly spiced. I am fond of this. A whole other profile
      than the 1980.
    • Taste
It is creamy and mouth coating, sweet and sour on citrus (lime, mandarin
and grapefruit) with loads of honey and brown sugar. Evolves towards Turkish
Delight and pineapple cubes. Very fruity and inviting. Slightly drying from the
oak. Spicy. This is very good indeed. It even shows a dusty side, emphasizing
      the age.
    • Finish
The finish is very long on fruit, that remains juicy until the very end.
