    A mature grouse - a neat blend!
    • Nose
      [N] sweet and fruity;
    • Taste
      round, soft taste, sweet, fruity, "wine note";
    • Finish
      medium-length finish, becoming dry;

    Smoother than The Famous Grouse standard bottling, but no more impressive.  Even with the 12 Year Old whiskies in here, it doesn’t seem to enhance the overall experience very much compared to the standard bottling.  I’m giving it one extra point over the standard, simply due to its smoothness, which is the only improvement I could perceive from the standard bottling.  Not worth the additional $14.00 over the standard at the local stores.
    • Nose
      Baked bread, slight smoke, a bit of vanilla and spice.
    • Taste
      Very muted toffee and vanilla, with cereal and malt.
    • Finish
      Very quick, a bit of smoke not unlike Highland Park 12 Year Old, but much quicker.  This whisky disappears quickly off the palate once swallowed.

    Do not be put off by the bad ratings and the cyanide taste and try this blend without prejudice!
    • Nose
      Apple, raisins, honey, cyanide
    • Taste
      Honey, apple, bitter almonds, pineapple (?)
    • Finish
      And all together makes a somersault and then disappears unfortunately.

  4. The Macallan scored this whisky 79 points Connoisseur

    A nice warm, ripe and full blended whisky. Must say that the Speyside malts are overpowering, but in a very pleasant way.
    • Nose
      Light smokey, beautiful warm sweet sherry notes, very rich, heathery notes.
    • Taste
      soft, slightly bitter, old citrus, dry and chewy.
    • Finish
      A short burst of warm citrus, slightly dry and chewy.
