  2. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Fruity, sweet, but with a nice bitter impact. Nice, but not earth-shattering.

  3. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Crunchy thing, nothing for fabric softener, that's fun. If I remember rightly, then cost 40 € plus 10 € for a good cause - was worth it.
    • Nose
very sparkling, tingling in the nose, lemon, white wine or sparkling wine, mineral, almost salty, chalk, then waterier, sweet, shortbread, vanilla with water
    • Taste
hui, who grates on a very nice tongue, lots of white pepper, what fruity-bitter, there must be water ran: lime, grapefruit, skin of white grapes, then of course still pepper with a bitter-bitter sweetness between cocoa and coffee , Walnut
    • Finish
      long, hot, peppery, bitter

  4. Erik Elixir scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

N: white wine, spices, bitter lemon, very old cheese - salt , crystals, nectarines and plumes
T: bitter fruits - grape fruits, kiwi, spices, nuts, with water more sweet candy and peach
F: warming spices, grains, cherry, gooseberries and again bitter

  5. MaltMartin scored this whisky 78 points Connoisseur

This tastes like very young whisky, almost new make. I prefer the sherried style Macduff's vintages from 2000.
    • Nose
Aromatic but spirity as well. Juniper berries like in Dutch genever. Yeasty and malty. Some pear and melon later on.
    • Taste
Clear, fresh and malty. Very sharp though. Some pepper and ginger. Winey.
    • Finish
Medium long. Bitterness. The alcoholic sharpness reamins. Not much in balance.

    A difficult Macduff
in my opinion. Just like the 14 Year Old Dram of the Lords, this one needs a
lot of water to become quaffable. But it is never really any good. A let down
and the weakling in the Anam na h-Alba range if you ask me. Around 73 EUR.
    • Nose
      The nose is somewhat bizarre.
Loads of grain in combination with some sherry influences like bitter coffee,
walnuts and faux leather. A bit of cigar-box and wet hay. Not a lot of fruit.
The only thing coming through is a bit of white and yellow apples, oranges,
honey and sultanas, but you have to look for it. Some mineral touches as well. Flints, wet rocks. Water
      flattens the whole.
    • Taste
      It is oily on the
      palate, but very bitter. Walnuts,
grape stones, ginger, white pepper. The fruit does not stand a chance. Only
dried pineapple surfaces. Razor sharp. With water, it turns a lot sweeter and
      tames the bitterness. Blimey!
    • Finish
      The undiluted finish
is long and bitter, the diluted finish is short and bitter.

    with some water:
nose: strong: white wine, light grapes, cabernet sauvignon ?, little: sour orange, or grapefruit ?, spring meadow in the morning, sweet bluetenduft, a touch of lavender?
taste: sweet grapes, sweet exotic fruits, mango, vanilla, the whole thing surrounded by some white pepper. in the end, after some time in the glass, intense honey and popcorn?
finish: sweet and white pepper, medium to long.
