Whisky Reviews for Mortlach 10-year-old McG

[July, 2018]  A quick review of a small sample to check if this one is really sub-standard…

The colour is old gold and the texture shows medium tears with medium fast legs.  The nose is fresh and somewhat immature missing almost all aromas that indicate a successful maturation (like fruits, herbs, spices or honeys).  It is not really bad but it is completely unimpressive.  The dram arrives the same way in the mouth leaving almost no impression (like a warm or coating/creamy feeling).  The taste owns almost no characteristics of a malt whisky and is rather like sugared alcohol with again almost no flavours to remember by tomorrow morning.  And the finish is short, nothing else.  Water does not change anything.

I call this a dispensable dram from an inactive (or leached) cask and I used the spittoon because I want to save my liver cells for better drinks...

This is a young zesty one but in truth it is a little light  and definitely an aperitif.
