  1. didi1893 scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

A good drinkable blend with a fruity and pleasant nose. The taste is dominated by spicy wood and various spices, the aftertaste is relatively short and unspectacular. Easy drinking ...
    • Nose
Fruity sweet with light roasted aromas, peaches and orange follow. Green apple and citrus give the nose a slightly harsher and fresher note, a hint of pineapple and melon are supported by malty vanilla. Milk chocolate and a touch of nuts. Slowly the nose turns towards tropical fruits, but the peach continues to dominate the fruity note.
    • Taste
Sour fruit aromas are immediately mixed with tart and spicy wood tones, followed by a subtle, crisp note. Grapefruit and other citrus fruits mix with the colorful fruit mix. The taste is a little sprightly with a hint of furniture polish. The spicy wood flavors become more intense, white pepper and an oriental spice mixture again produces a pleasant sharpness on the tongue.
    • Finish
Spicy and dry wood elements start the aftertaste. Here and there, the slightly acidic citrus fruits are noticeable from the taste, dominate but primarily spicy wood tones and subtle spicy notes. At the end of the Nachklags creates a dry walnut and wood flavor.

    • Nose
      70 70
Nose: First impression wadded, after a few seconds caramel and green apple notes rise. If the whiskey in the hand is warmed up slightly, one perceives a smell of not quite ripe banana and a little vanilla. The fresh fruit note will be preserved for a long time.
    • Taste
      72 72
Palate: At the beginning, one perceives a slight solvent aroma (salmiac), which is immediately drowned out by a spicy pepper note. The banana with caramel does not diminish and presents itself with a slight roasted note summarizes as a dessert. It only lacks the whipped cream and the almonds - maybe a liquid banana split ;-)
    • Finish
      64 64
Departure: On the palate persistent is a white pepper note with vanilla and caramel. Unfortunately, the finish is not very present and does not stop.
Conclusion: value for money OK. But I stand for stronger or more aromatic drinks ...

    • Nose
A deep vanilla bottom and a sweet fruitiness. A light touch of cloves and a light perfumed background.
    • Taste
Medium body, spicy and a very little oil. Sweetness around oak with vanilla and cinnamon.
    • Finish
Medium light oaky finish and vanilla.

Compass Box advises to use water in whiskys. And allow it time in the glass to open up. It is good advise as a whole, and a must for this whisky; without water it is lacking in nose and taste.

This whisky is a lesson in wood maturation. An area where CB is leading.
    • Nose
Closed. Also with time in the glass. Green, sweet wood tones.

With water (and time): Sweet. Milk chocolate, Oranges, juicy and sweet and sour. Sage.
    • Taste
No defined arrival. The development is sweet and hot, with honey and citrus bitterness.

With water: Arrival of sweet bread. The development is dry, sweet-sour citrus fruit.
    • Finish
" Oak Crosss": The oak is in the finish. Long and dry.
