Wow! - complex, close to a fruit bomb but very well balanced, good sweetness but not sticky sweet - absolutely top level and one of the best - delicious!

Head to head with the top Springer 40yo #263 I would say that this one is just a bit wilder and less vanilla-mango-pepper-ish but really on eye level. Anyway, flabbergasting!
    • Nose
      98 98
Truck loads of tropical fruits, ripe mango and papaya, pepper, acacia honey, orange peel, spices, cloves, hints of xmas spice, whiffs of wet tobacco and fine notes of oak wood - superb!
    • Taste
      99 99
Fresh, punchy, oily, subtle sweetness, again the full basket of tropical fruits mixed with fresh orange juice and some apricot jam, more spices, some white pepper and ginger, finest oak wood, touch of vanilla - excellent!
    • Finish
      97 97
Long, warm, fruity, zesty, spicy, more fine wood, not drying at all - fantastic!

    Fabulously good.
    • Nose
Nose of superb intensity. Very ripe tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, green banana, mangosteen juice. Blood orange essential oil left to rest in a varnished barrel made of noble wood, Petit Lu with cereals and ladyfingers, sprinkled with ginger and cinnamon. Very fresh pepper honey.
    • Taste
Fresh, oily palate, intensely delicious and immediately transporting. A melted mix of all the tropical fruits of the nose with lots of apricot and melon juice, a few drops of blood orange. A finely chocolatey wood, impregnated with tiare essential oil.
    • Finish
Long finish (endless on some sips) and majestic finish of tropical fruits cooked in a copper cauldron with cinnamon and oud, cloves for freshness. A superb evolving wood whose fibers become visible, tangible. Light cardboard a little sweet.

Revisiting this one tonight and its even more stunning than the first time I tried it, mango, banana, coconut, papaya, tropical fruits galore then tobacco, spices, some oak, vanilla, superb

Tried again from another freshly opened bottle - what a fruit bomb on the nose with lots of honeys and ripe fruits - not too sweet on the palate but plenty of spices and fine woody notes - my rating still holds!

Typical Old School Springbank, tropical, dark fruits, oily, salty, liquorice, mineral, tobacco notes with Christmassy spices of ginger, cloves, pepper and the finest quality wood. All tastes unite in perfection. Absolutely brilliant Springbank.

  7. Baanaanaabob scored this whisky 94 points Connoisseur

Brilliant tropical fruits along with sweet spices a hint of tobacco, oranges and berries, excellent

A jumper with a lot of depth, adorable.
    • Nose
Orange, bisquits, dark berries, tropical fruits. Trafolack, wrapping paper, cloves, nutmeg, toasted oak. Everything is very harmonious, intense and nicely staggered.
    • Taste
Tropical, green and candied fruits, dark berries, walnut, vanilla, oak, a bit peppery, salty and oily. A lot of power, an aroma bomb without end. Very harmonious, very well balanced.
    • Finish
Salty, mineral, transformer paint, wrapping paper, cloves, subtle sweetness. Warm, very long finish, everything very balanced

One of the best whiskys I've tasted! Enthusiasm: Nose: 5/5 Palate: 5/5 Final: 5/5 Whisky n ° 1761
    • Nose
Custard ! Vanilla in abundance! Fresh fruits with cottage cheese, some subtle aromatic herbs, polished wood ... What a nose!
    • Taste
In the mouth, melted! Fruity! Alcohol ? Where ? A touch of soot typical of the distillery, and spices supported.
    • Finish
Spices sparkle smoothly in a velvet finish. It is superb !
