  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

An early example of fruity Glen Keith distilled in the early 1990's. This one has a lot of spice on the palate though.
    • Nose
Soft fruitiness of yellow apples, apricot and pear drops. Fresh spring flowers. Notes of vanilla and honey. Grassiness as well. Touch of smoke.
    • Taste
More astingent now. Quite hot and spicy. Citrus fruit of lemon and lime. Sultana. Some custard powder. Cedar wood at the background. Later on spearmint and pine.
    • Finish
Medium long. Peppery. Liquorice. Clove. Salty at the end.

[July, 2018]  A quick review of a small sample.

The colour is pale gold and the texture shows a sticky ring that builds fat tears with slow legs (a fat oiliness).  The nose offers the typical fruity-sweet Glen Keith profile with fine sugars, honeys and some spices.  Not much wood influence here but this is fine - an old-style "distillate-driven" dram (that I like much more than the modern usually wood-driven ones).  The initial mouthfeel is warming and coating with a minor bitter-drying feeling (cardboards - the wood comes into play, now).  The taste is sweet mainly on barley sugars and (unfortunately) is less fruity than the nose but nevertheless easy to sip.  The finish shows a decent length (medium to long) with more spices and (fortunately) without the cardboardy dryness of the first mouthfeel.  Water releases more aromas on the palate and reduces the drying mouthfeel so I like this dram best when reduced to about 40% abv.

A typical and easy quaffable Glen Keith that I will not remember next year (but tomorrow morning, surely!).  Not too bad (as the Aussies would state)...

You can smell the almond/nuts on the nose, at first thn lemon and sugar mixed with warm pastry. Nice mouthfeel, quite lively sure its young but I quite like this because its not flat at 46%
