Very spicy oak is above all else. Licorice and a subtle sweetness. Good whisky, the oak is unusual.

  2. rottendon scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

So that's the german oak. If you expect an oak board, you will be disappointed. The question remains, was the German oak still a virgin? I had the impression that she had previously let German wine live with her, but unfortunately I do not know. I liked the whole thing very well, not complex, but very consistent and powerful, but good in balance.
    • Nose
Initial vinous notes quickly give way to notes of brandy, with hints of toffee in the background. After life, the whole set and softer. Heavy sweetness now comes from the depths and mates with the slightly scratchy notes, which now do not so clearly remind of brandy, and with increasing temperature again increasingly in the foreground.
    • Taste
Dark sweetness, roasted fir honey, if there is such a thing, spreads in the mouth, while from behind several times the impression of clear acid flashes and disappears again. Towards the back are clear, slightly tart oak notes along with a now consistent, slightly sour note. The mouthfeel is full and oily.
    • Finish
While the taste fades rather quickly with a little bit of menthol, in the back of the mouth a buttery nuttiness lasts longer, de facto very long.
