The older character gives him a bit of a bonus, so fair 85 points.

Straw yellow is this whisky! The aroma is restrained. Here is a clear Sherrynote, lots of sweetness and fresh citrus fruits. The taste is more expressive than the nose. Again a lot of sweetness. There are apricots and again citrus fruits, but also grapes and almonds in the background. A peppery pungency is a pleasant companion all the time. The aftertaste is long and warm and leaves behind a hint of plum wine.
A light, tasty whisky. Extremely round and harmonious.

  8. mmaclean scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

Matured in amontillado casks. Pleasantly fresh, briny, and yeasty, which
works nicely with the atypical toffee and nutty notes. Glenkinchie’s
dry, grassy character emerges occasionally, as does some delicate
background spice and a hint of lime. Pretty hefty stuff for Lowland

  9. Feusi scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Rich and complex in the nose, with honey, vanilla and sherry. Fullbodied and warming on the palate, with dried fruits and slightly smoky notes. A really long finish, warm and nice, with toffee and nuts.
