  1. Lu Cifer scored this whisky 79 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
      79 79
aromatic with grain, sweet but also with spicy components, apples, yellow fruits, geraniums? A touch of essential oils and incense.
    • Taste
      79 79
fresh and flowery, sweetish, hint of spicy, spices, powdered sugar, slightly tart oak notes that are enhanced by slurping.
    • Finish
      78 78
at first slightly spicy, delicately tart with oak, then sweet and soft with notes of powdered sugar. In the end it is relatively flat and one-dimensional ...

  3. FritzeKrautman scored this whisky 74 points Expert Senior

A fruity American. Drink and forget.
    • Nose
Pronounced solvent and fruity (overripe apples and mirabelle, later banana and pear).
    • Taste
fruity, soft, becoming increasingly alcoholic without biting.
    • Finish
Some wood on the finish and slightly bitter. Fades fast.

nothing special except for the novelty that they used birdseed to make whiskey

A light, sweet and dull whiskey. Apart from the obvious sweetness nothing stands out or pops for me. With water it becomes even sweeter. I wonder how much time this had in a cask as, apart from some colour, it did not impact the spirit very much. This is not for me.
All in all a new make spirit driven drink.
    • Nose
A very subtle, fresh, floral and a dull whiskey with aromas of icing sugar, floral tones (daisies) hint of spices, acacia honey, new make spirit, powerful alcohol notes, soapy tones and some off notes (paraffin, hint of diesel) and a hint of pear.
    • Taste
A sweet, fresh and subtle creamy whiskey with aromas of pepper, hint of mint, icing sugar, chili, hint of tannins, menthol and new make spirit.
    • Finish
A short and very sweet finish with aromas of icing sugar, pepper, hint of spices, hint of tannins and do I detect a faint hint of oak?

N: Paraffin, methylated spirits, butane, rubber distillate
T: Butane fuelled, sugar cupcake decorations
    F: Not really
C: Terrible compared to the first cask i tried, but i still hold a soft spot for that Millet sweetness when its executed right. What a difference a cask makes.

    No score

    ‘Patisserie paradise'
N: Wow, almond sugar drops, Battenberg cake, light liquorice and bath soaps. A patisserie paradise
T: Sweet white rum with soft, liquidised fairy cakes. Mild on the palate with a consistent flatline delivery to the finish
F: More moorish sweetness here too. Gotta love those simple yet pleasing grain sugars
C: How does one score Millet whiskey? Possibly, like Genever. Sooo very tasty but I’m aware that casks vary, and one i tried later on in the year was nowhere near this standard [notes to follow].

    Scores a C- [80]
