This is the third time I have tasted this Chichibu, and I had been disappointed the first two (80/100). This is a good opportunity to spend a little more time on it.
    And ... no, still not.

The finale is on the new spirit. The nose is difficult. In the mouth it's better, but hey ... disappointment. The series that followed at Chichibu was of better quality in my opinion (Chibidaru, Peated, Floor malted)

You can smell alcohol very strongly.
Lemon, white grapes, flour, vanilla. A little wood, orange peel. Harlequin. Bread crumbs.
      It's simple.
    • Taste
      85 85
In the mouth we have apple, pear, and a nice dose of vanilla.
Fudge, caramel. A nice tarte tatin?
      Always flour and bread.
    • Finish
      78 78
Final on gin, aromatic herbs, pepper, ginger.

At only three years of age, this whisky proves that Chichibu has a wonderful foundation for great older whiskies to come
    • Nose
Warm milk soaked Weetabix, a new catcher’s mitt and lemon bars.  All of those scents are so well integrated and inviting.
    • Taste
Very creamy and rich. Truth be told the mouth experience mirrors the nosing experience so well.
    • Finish
Medium in length with spiced citrus fruits

Flasch now emptied Jan. 2018, I tasted wonderful. Not drinking for a long time, slightly sweetish, very good. Rate him high. The distillates with the old Hanyu stills were simply more sophisticated than those with the new double-capacity stills. Ichiro, my friend, this whisky is something special, make another one! That should be expensive once. I'm still going to reload efforts and regret any I've ever sold. Actually a good whisky, but I have 2 bottles of different impressions. It may be that the palate was different, the tasting was almost 9 months apart. The 1st drunk in August 15. I liked him very much. The second bottle opened in March 16, I thought it was good. Between refreshingly lemony and then again wooden, like Steven Seagal in his Hau-Back Kung Fu films. You can taste what you want, it's always true. He has his own edges, but luckily he is not smoky. On new German. The ekke has and lemon, sometimes strong like ,,,, knows nothing. Tell elephant or tiger this. Believe that expensive because first. I do not give a merry, would buy better, if you give drekksbillig, tell me full blatantly, you get little coal, enough for 3 tank bensin for rust your.

I am already looking forward to a 10 or 12 year old version!
    • Nose
Vanilla, honey, grains, fruity (apples, oranges)
    • Taste
Fruity (pineapples, pears), honey, vanilla, soft, creamy
    • Finish
Long, fruity (green apples), vanilla, spicy (peppery)

This young boy deserves 90 point (in my humble opinion) because It's just a 3 years old whisky and it's Very rare to find this complexity and amount of flavours in such a young whisky from anywhere.First time for me tasting a Chichibu and I'm delighted.

    Blenders Glass.
    Great for three years!
I recommend drinking in small vultures.
The nose is fruity, smoky and trussy. The taste is explosive, sweet, with spices. Long lasting aftertaste, salt and spices, ginger?

Already very good drinkable with nice, own sounds, but if you spend more than 80 Euro, you can not help that either (and I'm a Chichi fan).
    • Nose
Pretty filigree in the nose for so much%, some lemon, granulated sugar, sweet cereals, light honey, grapes, vanilla, marshmallows
    • Taste
Lemon gums extremely, sweet ginger, crystal sugar again, camphor, mint, light toffee and honey, some kiwi, light malt, cereals
    • Finish
Medium long, still with citrus notes, a little young malt, camphor

Now i realise I’m late to the game, but i won’t miss the party. I was getting acquainted with Yamazaki in 2011 when the 10yo was less than £40 in Sainsbury’s!

N: Rich caramac, oily cereals and a solid [porridge-paste] mash base – albeit with prunes, stewed apples and hey,. apple strudel! Then there’s the bubblegum dunnage – well thats bourbon casks talking. Then there’s hot [and spitting] golden syrup. Ha, love the nose – it conjures up all sorts of childish whimsy in me

T: There’s continuity here with a heavy, dark, porridge-paste malt, one that cloys a touch

F: ,….. long long unravel before cocoa spirit calls last orders.

C: What a fine start for this distillery, and only three years old! Let’s see how a 3yo Chichibu was a year on WB.

    Scores a C+

N: This is a previous note [just found], of my first contact with ‘The first' and i find this has a Mannochmore-esque 'roar' and a rawness i like. Water softens everything and accentuates the vanilla.

T: With water [definitely recommended], it journeys 'straight as a die' as a thick yet neutral bourbon cask whisky. Mellows into the finish,....

F: .... yet conversely stays vibrant and full-bodied with a healthy apricot sour to conclude.

C: What a platform for future realises, a 'sharp as steel', faultless young malt with signs of maturity preceding its years.

    Scores a C [82]

,.... So let's split the difference
