Green wood, unripe fruits, a little dry. It gives a lot of relief, but rounds up is smooth with the opening, even if you lose in expressiveness.
This is expressiveness! Very fluffy! He is finally his age. Woody, fruity (where I distinguish apricot), the spices are there, it's pretty!
What aroma development during the first sip! Everything going up on the volume! In the following sips, there is a nice fruity but on restraint, with a crackling of spices on the other side of the spectrum.
Mouth and final 4/5
Whisky n ° 1798
- little closed nose, in the beginning bit of glue but that quickly pulled away. honey, heather. Mouth is quite malty, aftertaste too, but reasonably long but not very complex. Does not taste like a very old whisky.
one, give it time
timid and soft. Sweet and honeyed barley. Apricots, apple and dried fruit. Also
a little bit floral.
Creamy and elegant.
Citrus fruits, like red oranges and grapefruit. Towards the finish it becomes
more citrus/ tropical fruity tea.
sweet, more greenish bananas and tea. Dried leaves.
- It reminds me a bit of Amrut (ginger + exotic fruit). If the finish would be longer I'd give it a higher score.
The nose is rather closed at first. It needs some time and a little bit of water to open up. Then the hay, wet stone, minerals and some slight fruitiness emerge.
Ginger, exotic fruit, a bit of hay and less minerals than in the nose.
Rather short unfortunately with more ginger and a bit of fruit.
Clean. Sweetish. Pronounced barley sugar. Some sherry.
Medium-bodied. Very smooth indeed. Clean, malty, nutty.
Nice balance of fragrant smoky dryness.
