A bit of mint and milk chocolate on the nose, as well as pinecones and ash. Quite enticing, but then the palate gives you an unexpected slap of oak spice, followed by some smoke and eucalyptus. On the second sip you're more braced for the oak-spice slap to the face, so you can then enjoy the waxy fruits underneath. Still slightly too bitter to want to come rushing back to, but a dram of substance nonetheless.

great nose, bread, fresno, sheepherders, a basque bakery, hints of apples, some almost ripe banana, a little pepper-white. bagels come back after a few minutes, yeasty, doughy, malty, love it so far, simple no oak which to me is GREAT!! mouth is waxy, grassy, more pepper, taragon mint and menthol tobacco, does it even need water...? Water sharpens the blade, citrus lemon lime not quite ripe mandarins, a touch of waxy oiliness to lengthen the finish, a precise malt. Undiminished by heavy oak bludgeons, love this style. I wanna preach anti-oak slogans but not gonna, this malt walks the talk. The simplicity keeps it below the 12 yo OB although that simplicity is divine.

Spritige affair, but warming ... apple and vanilla, thus similar to an apple pie. Bitter, not very noble, but not distracting.

A dram who could not convince me despite his age. Weak body and too sprightly!

Nose: sweet , ginger, cloves honey. Plenty of wood spice. Old wood benches. Apple and pear.

Palate: enters smoke. Much more than felt in the nose, with hint of peat. Big palate, with the fruit and bitter wood. An alcohol bite, and some cereal and honey liquor.

Finish : Malt. Bitter coffee and a bit rough. Earthy.

A bit harsh and bitter, sort of a rough one, which makes it nice but not quite there for me. Not my cuppa.
