This was once a nice Tomatin, I am sure. But those days are long gone.
Could it be due to the fact that this whisky has been sitting in the bottle for
all those years, knowing that only a few drams were left? Probably. Good thing
I finished it off, then.
On the nose, I get quite a few dusty associations, but aside from that,
it is very fruity. Pineapple and overripe peaches, some brésilienne nuts and
brown banana A hint of buttermilk is something of a party pooper. Caramel candy
like Werthers Original make up for it.
Unfortunately, the whisky is very, very watery. Quite flat, indeed. Yes,
there is some fruit, sure. But also a lot of bitterness. Some spices try to
save the day, but to no avail.
The finish is fairly long and a combination of bitter and salt. Not
really that good, I must say.
