unbelievable how beautiful this 10y Talisker is
    just to fall in love
    and quite uncomplicated
he has something of everything that I like about Talisker
the subtle, the rich in aromas, the maritime freshness and this incomparable fine Talisker sweetness (clover sweetness)
    great from nose to finish

    yes! I'm in heaven
    • Nose
a small peat fire smokes in the distance
You run in the sunny morning at the harbor ...
the air puts a salt film around your lips
in the harbor basin the soft sea water splashes
At the fruit stand you can smell the oranges and lemons
the market woman cuts them open
from the sparkling acid your mouth water
      behind are ripe apricots
You take it in your hand
      how soft they are
it's all so tempting in this maritime fresh salt air
You choose oranges and fresh mint
The woman gives you a caramel candy
you would like to put everything in your mouth all at once
    • Taste
very soft and oily, it flatters your tongue
and cheats a lot of creamy chocolate and smoke into your mouth
and now you have everything at once
      oranges
      fresh mint
      caramel
      apricots
      the soft seawater
      Salt sticks to your palate
and tease the chocolate on your tongue
    • Finish
      long
      a nice glow>
      sweet dry malt
      fine smoke
      Chocolate & salt
      sweet tobacco
and then at the very end ...
      long brine liquorice

Great part. The interplay of fruit and spice sharpness is very appealing. Nice wide range of flavors that harmonizes well with each other. Tastes more. So far blind. Resolution: Talisker 10yo Map Label. Shh .... I was afraid of it. Well, earlier ...
    • Nose
Fresh and fruity with a hint of sea breeze and peat ... Tasty tangerines, oranges, lemons and strawberries. Mild and fruity, but profound and full-bodied. A pinch of salt and pepper. Campfire smoke, dark chocolate.
    • Taste
Sharp-fruity onset, where the sharpness is very pleasant: peppers, cayenne pepper, spicy paprika. Orange marmalade with a hint of bitterness, oak, salt, chocolate, cocoa, coffee beans. There is a lot going on here. Even a certain peatiness can not deny him. Gets more intense with time. Tobacco notes.
    • Finish
Medium to long, slightly dry, with oak, pepper, milk chocolate and old leather.

  4. Cicero did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

an excellent Talisker Sweetness, oak, spice, fruit in perfect combination Milder than a "new" Talisker 10 years, less Chili Catch but it also offers a wealth of flavors
    • Nose
unbelievably pleasant, while amazingly tame and fresh
      Citrus, orange, yellow raspberries
      salty sea air
Somewhere far away is still faintly glowing ashes
    • Taste
      sweet candied orange
      Bitterness of the orange peel
the sharpness in the entrance is there, but also not too dominant pronounced; fits well
the mouthfeel is creamy and soft
beautiful influence of the oak in the finish
    • Finish
      long and balanced

  5. Noface83 scored this whisky 87 points Specialist

Nose: Lemons and orange fruits, some scent of the sea, a hint of wood washed ashore on the beach, ginger and a pinch of pepper, malt, very sweet and maritime and above all hovers a wonderful camp fire smoke.
Taste: very soft, creamy toffee, salted orange peel, very musty wood and then very bitter and woody on the finish and the pepper note so famous today is also not so dominant (reminds me with the oak note of mild chilli chocolate), The smoke is always present but sometimes comes out strong. Changes from sip to sip.

Quite different from the "new" Talisker. Milder but also "older" in the smell and nose. Very tasty and a real shame when you look at what and Talisker with his NAS (especially the "Skye") up to date. Previously a cool part for the money but the prices that are required for it today, he is not worth it.

The veteran of the Talisker family has been distilled in the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye since 1830 and matured in American oak barrels for 10 years. The first of the two distillation phases gives the single malt its unique spicy complexity and the unmistakable peppery notes.

  10. Ostap scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Just a fantastic 10! Is the grass no longer as green as it was in those years?! ... Perfect development and balance. It is with such whisky you can go to a desert island in the ocean.
    • Nose
      90 90
Saturated immediately and immediately a bunch of everything: minerality, iodine, algae, dry peat, Ukrainian steppe in July, tangibly fruity, kumquat, candied fruit, citrus fruits, coniferous notes, white grapes, soap-chemical nuances, obvious medical notes (bandages), pretty salty aroma (spicy-salty fatty fish), a little honey, sour and tart berries, dust, bread crumbs, and a lot of wax.
    • Taste
      91 91
Citrus blast, fireworks, sweet, peat, meat with sweet sauce, honey, wax.
    • Finish
      91 91
Sweet, citrusy, candy, honey, long-lasting, slightly pepper, light peat, seafood, wax.
