Not as "great" as pure sherry whiskys that have spent all their time in sherry barrels when compared to sherry whiskys. Instead, he has his own identity that sets him apart from others who only go in one direction. Legs type "Jack of many trades".
    • Nose
      60 60
Not too intense sherry smell and very light spice.
    • Taste
      60 60
Powerful start that quickly and steadily gives way to sherry taste. A little spice is added shortly before the finish.
    • Finish
      60 60
Wort attracts. The strong impression goes away quickly, but a basic taste remains on the tongue.

Despite that I am not a very sherry enthusiast I must say, that this one could get on my good to buy list. Its a fair price for a 12yo and it gives you back smooth flavour with spicy finish which you can still notice after taking a deep breath after the tasting. It kind of stays on tongue, which is makes your 2nd tasting even better experience.

this whisky is exactly what i expected from a sherry bomb.
It tastes older than it is, mainly because of the full rich flavour but also because of the mouth coating nature of the spirit.
I'm not experienced enough to add detailed tasting notes but on the nose I got besides the obvious sherry notes also some mentholic or minty notes which added depth although it was fairly present.
on the palate it's not to pungy but gives u that nice mouth coating feel ending in some serious wood oak which may be a bit overpowering so maybe the 46% is enough for this whisky.
If i can get it again i would buy it as a daily dram over a lot of other 12 yo's.

This is an excellent whisky.  The craft presentation goes a long way to make this one stand out from other sherried single malts.  This whisky has a lot in common with Speyside malts like The Macallan and Glenfarclas.  However, it also shows a few characteristics certain highland malts, namely The Dalmore, so all in all, it is a kind of Highland/Speyside hybrid in its flavor profile.
    • Nose
Fruit salad (apples, grapes, mandarin oranges, cherries), almond paste, furniture oil, and saddle soap.
    • Taste
Very thick and chewy, with strong Oloroso sherry at first, then a combination of wood tannins, orange, furniture oil, and almond.
    • Finish
Rather long with pronounced oak wood, crushed almonds, and soft sherry notes.
