Did this old batch h2h with a newer one, #58. The differences are pretty immense...
The nose of #17 way fresh fruitier and sweet/floral, where ripe fruits and prunes dominate #58.
In body the same, #17 has more light red fruits then #58, with the darker and ripe fruits.
The finish of #58 has more power left, with same ripe fruits, less bitterness then #17.
Batch #17 definately way more attractive, beautiful dram, only finish scores a little lower because of the bitter notes that take over a little bit too much.
Very fruity, sweet. Berries, some candy-like sweetness, very floral as well. Caramel and milkchocolate. No trace of pickering alcohol.
Really lovely nose.
Very powerful, full bodied. Intense fruitiness, berries, chocolate. Some autumn-like influences. thick structure.
Now way more smoother, still full, sweet and fruity, but now more bitterness, wood clearly. Pretty long.
