Lovely peat smoke, licorice and mixed bag of pepper corns containing black-, white-, green pepper and allspice. Red apples and apple juice from concentrate, especially after a couple of minutes when the sweetness get more attention.
A subtle and light-bodied smoky arrival, very careful but elegant. After a few seconds on the palate the sweetness are coming through in the form of cane sugar. I recognize notes of barley but also other grains (which is of course way off). Peat smoke and pepper which is coming forward after further swirling the whisky around on the tongue.
The finish is fresh with mint, followed by salt, peat smoke and lemon. Barbecued and burned lemon. I think the red apples from the nose returns as well.
