Sandalwood, umeshu, subtle wood notes (cypress), dark honey, yellow-fleshed fruits (apricot, peach, plum), floral (heavy flowers in the background), turkish delight, coconut, pomegranate
Very oily mouthfeel.A lot of coconut, nougat, umeshu and honey, not too sweet as mocca and dark chocolate set a counterpoint. I also taste rancio, at times the malt is almost armagnac-esk, especially enhanced by the plum notes.
Medium length, astringent and bitter, espresso and wood.
Fantastic nose, builds something in the mouth, the finish is a touch too bitter. But complaining at a very high level.
The bottle 81233 was in contrast to the Yamazaki and Hakushu 25, which had for me miss notes, even half full.
Tasting in the Yamazaki distillery.
