Whisky Reviews for Monkey Shoulder Batch 27 - Smooth And Rich
7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 79.16 points
- Notes of malt, tobacco, and blueberries on the nose, more sweet berries and tobacco on the palate, long earthy finish. Adding some water brings out some dark fruits.
- A young, delicious blended malt!
equally fruity (green apples, pears), sweetness, slightly alcoholic note;
soft, mild approach, fruity (like Obstler), malt, sweetness, hint of vanilla, but clear (slightly alcoholic) youth;
short finish, some oak in the aftertaste;
- Not exciting, but a decent value for money. If it's on sale, though, I might pay the extra $8 and get an age statement and a bit more finesse with Glenmorangie Original. ...I do appreciate that in the U.S. we get the extra 3% abv.
Green apples, Vanilla, a little marshmallow, some solvent notes, some vestigial baking spices
Vanilla, unripe apple
Is there a faint hint of peat? Maybe just my imagination.
- Water is not needed.
Ripe, very sweet and long. Toasted/polished oak.
Still sweet: a soft start, vanilla custard, a hint of dried fruit, baked banana, cinnamon, vanilla.
Drier, Seville oranges, a touch of liquorice.
