  1. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Very rich and bright whisky, deep enough with a very wide palette of derivatives, but they all do not add up to a single picture, it turns out a lot of things, motley, chaotic, eclectic, there is no sense of integrity, unity.
    • Nose
Open, damp, wine-berry sweet notes, spicy woods, carpentry, some fresh furniture varnish and thinner, oiled metal tools, radish, herbal undertones, sharp mineral tones - carbide, lime, stone chips; lemon slice, floral motifs, salted lard with garlic.
    • Taste
Powerful, rich, oak, potion notes, coated tablets, wood dust, cardboard, sweet chemical motifs, leather goods, some plastic, ginger.
    • Finish
Spicy, refreshing, leather goods, floral-herbal shades, oak, lemon peel, ginger, mineral-metallic notes.

Well, what can I say?! Thirty-six years old in refiled sherry, and at such a high speed, it can't be boring!
In general, almost a chic whisky, but I personally lacked some development, in the sense that he gave out all his charms in the first minutes and completely refused to surprise anything in the future.
    • Nose
The aroma reveals hints of dry wood, earth, subtle smoke, as well as sweet notes of banana, prunes and chocolate.
    • Taste
The taste is dense, medium dryness, from derivatives - sweetened strong tea, mint, dried fruits, citrus sourness.
    • Finish
The finish is long, spicy-woody, with a slight fruity sweetness.

Nose: notes of wax, honeycombs, peach, light notes of sugar.
Taste: The taste of all the notes is hidden. Perceptible slight old age of these notes. There is a buttery taste on the tongue, malt barley, a little sugar
Rating: 88 | 100 - Nice tasting position. Finish with aged smoke and light barley mixed with honey.

    Great sherry release.

The taste is even better: warm jam, black tea, raisins.

      Sweet soft aftertaste.

[September, 2019] I had a dram during a FoSM club blind tasting...

...which was the best in that line-up, by far. It matured in a close-to-exhausted sherry cask which provided a lot of subtle aromas and flavours without any imbalance (like some fine 4th fill Glenfarclas Family Casks). Not to be enjoyed when in a hurry or after modern "heavily spiked" whiskies - despite its age I suggest to drink it rather at the beginning of a tasting when the taste buds are still fresh and attentive.
    • Nose
      90 90
The colour is deep gold and the nose offers an oily and honeyed-waxy profile with rather shy sherry aromas only. It is subtle and delicate with just whiffs of peat smoke in a very balanced setting. Take your time to explore this dram because it needs both some breathing time and search efforts to catch all the fine aromas. After significant breathing (20 minutes, better more) the sherry aromas grow stronger as do the spices of the wood so the dram maintains its excellent balance.
    • Taste
      88 88
The taste is subtle too with sweet barley sugars and honeys first followed by winey sherry flavours. Then oils and waxes deliver old-style impressions - but where is the wood? Another sign of a leached cask. Without the wooden support the taste is a little thin, unfortunately.
    • Finish
      88 88
The initial mouthfeel is warming and coating without distracting moments. The finish is of medium length and adds some spicy flavours, finally. No bitter or drying moments until the very end but again a little thin. Water releases more old-style aromas in both nose and palate, I like this dram best when reduced to about 45% abv.

The aroma is thick, viscous, sherry: dried fruits in abundance (figs, dates, fat dried apricots, dried berries), vegetable oils, old wood, chocolate, tea, dark honey, a little bit of minerality. The easiest hint of smoked. The taste is moderately sweet: a lot of oak, oil, spices, tea with honey, bitter chocolate, dried fruits, minerality (iodine, salt). Aftertaste : wine notes, astringent oak, candy, butter, a bit of minerality. Conclusion . A charming sherry nose on the verge of a masterpiece. The taste and finish are covered with a fair layer of delicious oak and sherry. Excellent old sherry whisky. Oily, zadublenny, bright. I did not add water. Score 91 (n24t23f22b22).

Very good whisky same as most of these old Bunnas - but not outstanding.
    • Nose
Warming, fruity and surprisingly fresh at first nosing. Aromas of quinces, figs and tea with honey. After a while weak notes of caramel and whiffs of smoke are coming up. Very nice.
    • Taste
Balanced, clean and dry on tea, toffee, oranges, pepper and malty notes. Quite similar to what the nose suggests. There is a weak smokyness on the palate as well.
    • Finish
Long with some weak notes of old wood coming up, slightly bitter towards the end.
