- November 2014.
I recently had a Glenugie SMWS 99.10 1980 25 year 47%. Out of the two I preferred the Signatory a little.
These 2 Glenugie were ever so smooth and enjoyable, probably some of the smoothest whisky I have had, no burn to speak of in either of them
- A very soft but complex Glenugie with lots of toasted oak and fruity sweetness.
Lots of tropical fruity sweetness of pineapple, lychee and apricot. Canned Del Monte bananas as well. Quite smooth. Some flowery and grassy notes.
Toasted oak. Vanilla and honey. Custard-powder. Herbs of camphor and thyme. Also aniseseed. Candy-floss and toffee..
Medium long. Cedarwood. A little pepper. Cinnamon and liquorice. Well balanced.
- tasted with Aby

- nice Glenugie, very clean with nice fruity and peppery nose. Turkish delights, pear and later on a bit herbal/tea 87p

- One more time, the nosing is the main attraction of the Signatory-Glenugies.
fruit salad, clean, balsamico vinegrette, citrus, complex
Fruits, citrus, wood, light bodied, malt
wood, citrus, malt, long, a little bit dry
- Wonderful taste and finish. I love this cleanliness and spiciness. My second Glenugie and again a very good one. A clear recommendation off the peat & sherry beaten track.
Quite mellow. My first impression is fruity (pears) & vanilla. Then there are also some floral and herbal notes (peppermint, heather, camilla). Very clean but a little shy.
Warming, clean and balanced.
Ginger, white pepper, vanilla and green paprika. Quite spicy. Excellent.
Wow! Long and spicy (white pepper and jalapenos) like a fire spitting dragon.
