Whisky Reviews for Ardbeg 1994 CA
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.41 points
- Devellops a wonderfully fat buttery note with time. Otherwise it is salt and smoke all the way but it works oh so well.
- Colour: Pale straw
Nose: Smoked ham, iodine bandages, liquorice, vanilla, lemon zest, candied ginger, nutmeg and pepper.
Palate: Strong peat, liquorice, grapefruit, hints of honey, vanilla, nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Very long, dry and smoky.
Overall: The peat is unusually strong and medicinal in this older Ardbeg. Everything is very clean and very dry, not overly complex but truly delightful.
- Not exactly a fizzer, but nice late teen Ardbeg nonetheless.
Sea salt, sand, lemon juice and barbecues. Water releases some iodine.
Sweet, lemony, salty, smokey bacon and more salt.
Charcoal and salt. Water lengthens it but makes it hotter.
