Too bad, a very nice and interesting nose, little in the taste to follow and the finish is a bit too much on the bitter side. I would love to try it in barrel size, or at least in full drinking strength, 40% are simply too thin to dilute.
    • Nose
Tender smoke over everything, relatively dense with cream caramel and ripe yellow fruits, towards peach and mirabelle. A few dates can be found as well as orange zest and also some salt and iodine. Warmth makes the nose fresher, denser and more exotic. Lemon juice, star fruit, papaya with marzipan, very creamy. Also floral notes develop.
    • Taste
Fruity sweet with distinctly tart notes and quite a bit of salt. Dark chocolate, fruit jelly and some fir honey, is drying up. Relatively weak-breasted.
    • Finish
The finish belongs entirely to the oak and slightly ashy. Not too long. At the end, a memory of tropical multi-fruit juice is felt.

The scent came to me a lot more interesting, a pity. I imported a sample from the Whisky Festival 2015.
    • Nose
Honey, with tones of sherry and citrus, dates, bloody oranges. I do not feel smoke out there, but the thicker veil of heath is there. This is a very pleasant smell, I wonder if she will want to keep up .... (85 b)
    • Taste
... and right after the first tasting, I know where the fish is buried with the price and volume of the bottle. It lags in richness and in sweetness for the smell. The body is thin, sparse. Firstly, wood, chocolate, but only weakly, after a lot of dry dirt. (81 b)

The sherry is mainly present in the nose. In the taste and finish it's the peat that takes a more prominent spot.
If you can get it for around 30 euros as mentioned in the shoplinks, you've got a decent entry level Highland Park which gives a good impression of the distillery profile. In regular retail it's more expensive than the Einar and Svein though, but it's definitely not better than those two.
    • Nose
Orange, toffee, peach, vanilla, peat smoke, chocolate and marzipan
    • Taste
Vanilla, peat ash, bitter almond, orange, chocolate, lime and new oak.
    • Finish
      Peat ash, vanilla and orange.
