This smells a little like Glenkinchie 10 year on the nose but it also has some hints of orange and plenty of spice including ginger?
The spice translates to the palate and it is very juicy and chewy, some nice fruit in the mix but cannot quite pinpoint what it is?
It is ok but I am not a fam of anything to do with port where whisky is concerned, (usually anyway) but this is quite nice. Had this before and still think it is worth a solid 85 points, good mouthfeel on this one.

A very compact, dense flavor profile. The Portfinish is much more restrained than with the Tomatin 14y. For me still getting used to.
    • Nose
Smoke rises from the glass, something lightly corporeal; and a mint fresh that would have suggested more than 40% alcohol. And malt.
    • Taste
In the mouth and on the palate comes the Cragganmore with port wine barrel. The whole is completed with smoke and salty seasoning and sherry; the malty remains in the background. Then something like oak bitterness develops.
    • Finish
The medium-long finish is oak-heavy, the port finish is in the background. In the mouth remains a salty-spicy note.

    Body: Firm,smooth and full.
    • Nose
Sweet like Heather honey.Scented. Beeswax.  Hessain. Nice.
    • Taste
Flowery. Orange blossom. Sweet oranges. Cherries. Port notes.
    • Finish
Flowery, balancing dryness. Warming. Soothing. Fruity and winey sweetness.

Tasting from a long opened bottle.

A classic and (in a good way!) simple Speyside Whisky that still has the maturity and depth of a good and classic Single Malt.

Compared to new bottlings - this is just a different Whisky!
    • Nose
Classic Speyside maltiness with some cask spiciness.

Apples, raisins, pineapple, hints of pralines.

A slight smokiness appears like woodsmoke, hints of malty peat.

Sweet leather, brandy beans and citrus fruits.

Later more leathery caramel, faint hints of chocolate and coffee.

      Old wood and classic maturation.
    • Taste
No weakness - instead there is a pleasant fire.

Again classic maltiness with some smoke.

Raisins, kiwi, pineapple and citrus fruits throughout.

Leather toffee, some pralines, old wood and hints of scouring powder. Even hints of salt. Some peat.

Full bodied, classic and really with some depth.

Hints of chocolate and coffee again.
    • Finish
Old casks, smoky malt, leather, fruit peels, candied citrus peels, raisins, rum papaya.

Again hints of peat, some coffee grounds.

We enjoyed this dram a lot - it never disappoints!

Here the double wood finish fits perfectly!
    Best quality!

    Tasting with FineSpirits_butler1.
    • Nose
      Soon appears caramel, mocha, some sour apples, a fresh citrus;

      after that the caramel turns to a light toffee, noble milk chocolate, latte macchiato;

the spiciness of the wood shines through and remains until the finish - as do all other flavours!
    • Taste
… as the nose, but more citrus with time and some older oranges, too; every time coffee in many kinds, chocolate and with the oak spiciness also some cocoa; a wonderful maltiness all the time; the toffee is every time available - wonderful!
    • Finish
Not very long but very tasty!

Mostly the coffee, the chocolate and the citrus combined with the wonderfully mild spices of the wood and deep maltiness.

A satisfying light bitterness turns to dry the whole ...

    Wonderful Distiller's Edition of Cragganmore.

Everything you wish from a round and well matured (!) every day dram.

Really good port casks with nice spicyness and coffee as well as noble milk chocolate. Combined with citrus and some fresh berries.

I miss that specific quality of maturity in the newer bottlings (even though this one right here has been open for many years).

Quite long and warming and yet so surprisingly light. ACE!!
    • Nose
Winey with some clear notes from the port and some of the sherry, some malty, mediteranian fruity notes and whiff of smoke.
    • Taste
Very soft but powerfull, a full body with some light fruity, peaty and some vanillins.
    • Finish
Long, slightly dryish with some nice fruit from the port finish in the back.
