Whisky Reviews for Longrow 2001
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.63 points
- Very nice, although quite a young whisky, with a very diverse and well-balanced picture of the derivatives of a special depth there, the barrel fits well with the base, there is no busting with either smoke or sherry.
Open, dry, soft smoke, peat, leather goods, smoked products, scorched branches, vegetable notes - fried potatoes, boiled vegetables; light lacquer motifs, polish for furniture, pipe tobacco.
Soft, saturated, peat, dry herbs, smoke, ash, sweet creamy caramel notes, light peppery wave, boiled condensed milk, metallic sour, sulphurous shades.
Soft, sour-sweet with a light bitterness, peat, ash, creamy-oily notes.
- notes from E.Elixer are spot on (as always), i just score it a little less.
some samples available on: whiskysample.nl
- N: new spirit, very salt, nuts - walnuts, tannins, floral and even some mustard
T: chocolate, briny, a bit young and winey
F: bitter - blood orange and lots of ashes
