    [September, 2012]  Together with friends I emptied bottle no. 193 that I bought for 67,50 Euro in April, 2012.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 87,5.  My notes state a modern sherry profile without any flaws.  Very sippable...

exciting whisky from a PX-barrel, highly recommended (total 91/100)
    • Nose
Raisins, moist moldy wood, spices (cinnamon, allspice), chocolates, overall dark and heavy Initially closed, with a few drops of water, the (dry) fruit and spice aromas are more pronounced (89)
    • Taste
intense but also barely alcoholic without water, starts syrupy with dried fruits (plums, dates), clearly sweet sherry, the spices from the aroma are also found on the palate, furniture polish and leather are added (92)
    • Finish
dried apricots, leather and sandalwood notes, slightly bitter notes of orange peel, chocolate - long finish with leather and walnuts. (92)

The nose is rather engaging, though too simple, but the mouth does not follow at all. A single cask for me without interest.
    • Nose
It's immediately syrupy. We immediately think of fig paste, fig syrup, dried fig, in short, fig. Biscuit notes accompany it. An artisanal Figolu? Then come spices and zan.
    • Taste
A little bit aggressive. It's still a woody and spicy fig, but it's a little tingling. It lacks a little integration and fade this case ... The mouth is dry, somewhat unbalanced, or even downright, in fact.
    • Finish
It burns a good shot and then, it leaves a bit bitter and burning notes with hints of alcohol, discreet but present anyway.

    very nice `bright`
sweetness. if I would have to take a guess, this feels like a bourbon
cask base, finished and/or re-racked into sherry to mature further...
like an older version of the 3rd Cask In A Van.

Transferring previous Note (2011.12.19) content into a Tasting Note.
    • Nose
quite savoury with a few dusty & fruity notes underneath - earthy
(dark garden soil & autumn leaves), curry, crayons, dried plums
& a few raisins, good dusty oak, somewhat meaty,  (88)
A bit later: sweet- & woody-ness increases and takes over after a short time already. (86)
      Later:
sweetness leans more towards chocolate now, white as well as milk
chocolate, some coffee, a bit sandy/dusty, but also some fresh fruits
now (chocolate dipped strawberries. Yay.) and caramel cookies (91)
    • Taste
quite a bit of sherry bujt also vanilla/caramel mixture sweetness upfront, then a dose of wood, (86)
Later: a few fruit notes - ripe cherries & white chocolate plus dusty oak wood (89)
    • Finish
drifting into more substantial sherry notes of dried fruits, and more
wood and a touch of leather plus some faint mineral/sandy notes (88)
      Later:
there`s a still some sherry, but finish has been taken over by more
(good) caramel & butterfudge as well, still some oak, but very well
      balanced with the sweetness. (89)
