The last of the five samples within the masterclass Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection and after the previous misery, there is finally a total hit. Sunk! This is really good enough, and in this case, I would definitely not refuse the whole bottle. Especially due to the fact that this was a sample from a freshly opened bottle, so there is the potential for further improvement during the bottle.
    (Evaluated on a sample basis.)
    • Nose
Compared to other samples, a very strong smell. A breath of dry smoke. Then a cube of beef broth (Masox), soup vegetables, cigar smoke and lovage.

With water, the smell is significantly quieter, almost indistinct.
    • Taste
Distinctly sweet and peppery at the same time. Peach, nectarine, white pepper and marzipan. A light smoke trail lurks throughout the taste. Salted caramel, egg yolk cream and unripe walnut.

After adding water, there is an orange with vanilla pudding and a pinch of pepper. Over time, more and more green mint.
    • Finish
Dry and slightly woody. Smoked cheese and smoked almonds. Ash. And perhaps rhubarb?

After adding the water comes the citrus peel, menthol filling and peppermint gum. After a long time even more woody, but still pleasant.

At first, a bit rough. Needs some time in the glass.

Good nose, bitter on the palate, but after some time and a splash of water very pleasant.
Glen Keith deserves more attention for sure...
