Still worth 90 points all round.
There is plenty of OBE on show here, this is one of those old Cadenhead dumpy offerings that you need to take your time with, and why I focussed on them quite some time ago.
Closed at first but there is a basket of stewed white fruits mixed with honey, a little menthol and a little peat.
After a few minute a hint of coca cola cube sweets that I used to love when I was a kid :)
A little polish, a little camphor perhaps, and a slight briny note
Very chewy, hints of peat but a massive wave of fruit is there from the off, pineapple, mango that sort of thing but there is a dry note that detracts a little, a woody not definitely from the cask rather than anything else.
Honeycomb, sherbet fizz and mixed in with the fruit a spice note emerges.
the wood/dryness knocks it down a few points but the spice wave increases by the sip and restores the balance and keeps the dryness in check
This has a long , fruity spicy finish but again that dry/bitter notes invades the palate but it comes and goes.
