Whisky Reviews for Macallan 15-year-old

Phenols come right at you but after a minute or two sweeter notes of fruit salad and oak come through
A bit tingly on the palate at first introduction. Caramel and a hint of tar are present
Rather long but a tad bitter with malty-oak, Bourbon, vanilla and some spice. For me, this dram was rather complex and requires some time to unlock. Water does not hurt the experience but keep it to a drop or two.
- Macallan delivers and I like it. I want more of it.
Sherry, vanilla, oak, honey, caramel, cinnamon,
Sherry, oak, balanced but expected it to be smoother, almonds
Medium long finish and a pure enjoyment
- "This triple cask combination delivers an extraordinarily smooth, delicate yet complex Single Malt matured at The Macallan distillery for a minimum of 15 years.
"Tasting notes: Rich straw in color. The nose is sublime and full, with a hint of rose and cinnamon. Intense flavors of rich chocolate with a hint of orange and raisin. Lingering finish with a hint of chocolate, orange and dried fruits." - Distillery
- I still prefer the standard 12 over the Fine Oak series.
Vanilla. Buttercream icing. Orange peels. Varnish. White bread. Coconut.
Honey drenched nuts. More vanilla. Citrus. Malt. Chardonnay?
Medium length. Soft fruits.
