    • Nose
      88 88
Lots of caramel and sherry. Beautiful nose.
    • Taste
      84 84
On the palate, this whisky comes across quite flat, compared to the nose. Lots of sherry and a hint of bright fruits. A very typical of Glengoyne.
    • Finish
      84 84
Dry grapes. Almost like a sweet red wine. Lots of ripe plums.

Nice, yet not great. The sherry influence is subtle, giving the spirit the ability to make its mark, but perhaps the cask influence is just a little too subtle, leading to a very enjoyable, easy drinking whisky that lacks just a bit of complexity and richness to be truely remarkable.
    • Nose
      85 85
chocolate, wood, honey, orange and orangezeste, soft spices (clove).
    • Taste
      82 82
a soft arrival, with the chocolate taking the lead, mainly followed by honey, vanilla spices. weird, you'd expect the sherry cask to push through here, but it's all quite minimal, very, very gentle and maybe just a wee bit underwhelming perhaps?
    • Finish
      82 82
medium long finish, with soft elements of nuts and wood

    My tasting notes:

Nose: Raspberries, clover, sugar wafer, white chocolate, honeycombPalette: perfect delivery, holds off and then gently swells to a crescendo: clover honey, pistachio ice cream, cashews, halvah.Finish: long but delicate and it goes on and on, decrescendo: peanut butter wafer, honey, sea salted caramel

  5. Angelos scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
First of all some associations of naturally cloudy apple juice. Pleasant notes of caramel and some vanilla. Sweet oranges
    • Taste
Delicious, clear oak influence, in the beginning sweet but becoming more bitter in the end, hints of nuts maybe walnut, creamy, some ripe apples and some ripe oranges. A hay note which becomes apparent in the end!
    • Finish
Medium, pleasant bitterness and the hay remains.
