Bought December 2012 from Sainsburys. I paid £30.

It was pleasant enough. On first opening it had an intriguing honeyed nose – like coconut or gorse bloom. Unfortunately this aroma diminished after the first few pourings and eventually disappeared. The 'coconut' aromas are typically found in good Sauternes desert wine. Perhaps they needed longer finishing?

    Nose:-
Predominant with fruit, fruits, fruitss. Sweet cherries, raisins, sour
plums and pears up front, layers with vanilla and eucalyptus that hold
    all element together.

Palate:- A bit hollow and a hit missed.
Do not taste as great as the aroma suggested. Woody with sweet note, a
    bit harsh. Disappointing,

Finish:- Medium length, spicy with herbal note.

    • Nose
Flowery. Exotic fruits, a little vanilla, cloves. Slightly drier than the 12-year-old.
    • Taste
Citrus and tropical fruits. Champagne, herbs, licorice.

Does anybody know the difference between this 15 years old Nectar d'Or and the 15 Yrs old Sauternes Wood Finish? My guess is that this was a remaining batch after the introduction of the new LVMH base line with the 12 years Lasanta, Quinta Ruban and Nectar d'Or. They could have kept it for a limited edition, but I understand they got nicely away with it by offering it as a one of at Sainsbury.

Very fruity, citrus, soft, lovely, despite its 46%. Great malt. Nice appetizer.

[Simple tasting] Iv 2 is up from the conventional nectar. A wonderful balance, burnt wheat, fruit feeling are clearly more delicious than Aster at a high level. The freshly caught red peach, yellowing tinged with time. However, I wanted more thickness of the finish from the body just because the fragrance was excellent. I think that it is done well overall. http://www.whiskylink.com/?p=17165
