For me a nice "starter" or whisky for "in between". Of course, this is no exception, but who expects that after 5 years? The Trestarig should be something first and foremost something for fans, because he stands like many other malts for the principles of Bruichladdich and their diversity and discovery and pioneering spirit shows wonderful - exclusively a special Scottish barley, distilled three times, the renunciation of dye and cooling filtration , Another step to the "progressive hebridean distillers" that they are today. And yes, if you can not deduce from these lines - I like Bruichladdich.
Measured at the current price of around 90 € per bottle, this is not a bargain and also no PLV winner, as it is often so beautiful. Nevertheless, I had many, many worse malts in the glass. However, I like to drink this one again and again.
    • Nose
Like light white wine, the malt is in the glass, in view of the low maturity of 5 years in former bourbon Casks also little wonder.
In the nose, however, directly surprising strong flavors, which are typical of these barrels. Vanilla, a little honey, slightly malty sweetness. Minimal citrus notes, which mix with slightly floral notes. Of course, he can not completely hide the youth, it always flashes again. Overall, very fresh and dominated mainly by the sweetness.
    • Taste
Need on the tongue a moment to really arrive, but also gives it a bit more reserved, waiting for a taste explosion in vain. For this you get a creamy-sweet and wonderfully mild malt, which literally occupies the tongue. One believes to be able to feel the oils of the malts, which lay around tongue and palate. Here are the honey sweet citrus mixture still slightly tart oak flavors added. Not really many, but in view of the short maturity hardly surprising. Every now and then something immature, but without really "metallic" effect.
    • Finish
Medium long finish, longer than one would expect given the age. Here, the malt but actually shows stamina, after a short sweetish floral notes oak remains a little longer. Not really bitter, but tannins are definitely there. Since I had many older Malts with a much shorter finish.

Right balanced drop with an optimal thickness of 46v%. Malt, lemon and a flower meadow in the first impression. Sweet fruits, maybe some honey and salt in the background. Peat? Maybe a little, but no smoke. This could be a good blend, or a perfumed vodka and is to drink quite  nice. In a blind tatsting, you would not do that on Islay.
