Whisky Reviews for Convalmore 1962 CA

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.20 points

  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Typical old and dusty whisky as you can expect from an old Cadenhead dumpy. From the bottle of the bar of Dornoch Castle.
    • Nose
The nose starts tropical with passion fruit, kiwi and lychee. Later on also Granny Smith apples and pear followed by dusty bookshelves and paraffin. Some leafy notes and grassiness. For such an old whisky it's still very fresh and lively.
    • Taste
Now more on overripe peaches, grapefruit and blood oranges. A sort of bitter-sweetness that’s not be found anymore in contemporary whiskies. Sandalwood and gingerbread. Caraway. Quite a lot of cinnamon as well. Almonds at the background.
    • Finish
Medium long. Ginger and cloves. A little mint at the end. Well balanced.
