  1. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Hmm, quite good, but to be honest, I expected 1-2 shovels more from DT and 60s Caperdonich in particular, especially the nose and finish are more in the direction of the better GM Caperdonich (aka best of the rest).
    • Nose
Lychee, vanilla, everything very gentle, mango, heather grass, fine malt and oak in it, almond, pecans, subtle herbal honey
    • Taste
Grapes, lychee, papaya, macdamia, pecans, both gently roasted, vanilla, light herbal honey, otherwise dry, linen sacks, wax, soft malt
    • Finish
Nice roasted coffee beans, tick liquorice, wax, almonds, gentle, maximum medium length

  2. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Molt is good, but for 37 years very simple and uncomplicated; the aroma still somehow tries to withstand the bar, but failure (for such a venerable age) in taste / finish sharply reduces the final score; and so - pleasant, dry, bourbon aging of an oak-grassy speaker, very dense and saturated, by the way, for its fortress.
    • Nose
Open, dry, lemon peel, herbal notes, processed wood, field flowers, leather goods, peaches, apricots, light mineral shades, weak bourbon derivatives - carpentry workshop, solvent, needles.
    • Taste
Dense, oily, peppery-woody, some medicinal herbs, lemon, camphor, resin notes.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, orange peel, butteriness, herbal hues, light ginger background, citrus lollipops.

  4. MaltMartin scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Fresh and fruity Caperdonich. Unbelievable this is almost 40 years old.
    • Nose
Tropical fruit, but in a subtle way. Pineapple and peach. Also melon and pear. Marzipan. Very smooth.
    • Taste
Quite intense and punchy for its 42%. I would say it had a higher alcohol %. Vanilla. Toasted oak. Cinnamon.
    • Finish
Medium long. Zesty. Gingery. Little spice of pepper. Delicate.

  6. Erik Elixir scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

N: oily, exotic fruits, honey and some rough notes like a real highlander
T: honey, soft spices and raisins
    F: wine gums (Haribo)
