Nice old Benromach but lacks power and a few flavours that would get the average over 90 points.
Great to try.
Well it is definitely old Benromach and noses like some of the 70's Heritage vintage bottles so a good start.
Strangely there are some banana notes, well banoffee pie to be exact, toffee, caramel, wafer with some grassy notes, green apple and other green fruit like kiwi.
Some vegetal notes are evident after a few minutes then more toffee takes centre stage with some beef stock.
This is a creamy one on toffee and is fat on the palate like some of the best 50's & 60's blends can be.
A nice ginger spice note emerges mixing with some cream and a faint hint of pepper.
The toffee is there mixed with some dark caramel wafer and there is a very slight metallic note.
Nice enough but fades quickly apart from a little spice but the mouthfeel is pleasant.
