subtle nose, tastes a little watered down (46% would likely improve it), with quite a long finish that is quite astringent. Overall a very pleasant dram.

The Distillers Edition of The Classic Malts brings a new dimension of flavor to the Single Malt whiskies. From the six Classic Malt distilleries, a small number of their best casks are independently selected to be double matured in port or wine casks. The Distillers Editions bear the stamp of the distillery and the cellar master and are only limited editions.
    The color is amber.
    • Nose
The scent fluctuates between soft and dry aromas with nuts and slightly smoky.
    • Taste
In the mouth you get wood, some citrus and light peat with an attractive sweetness of sherry.
    • Finish
A long finish with beautiful vegetable aromas.

It starts a bit sweet and fruity. Red apples and oranges. A great note of heather honey brightens up te nose. A light tone of plums in the background. I also scent great notes of wood casks. Light hints of peat and smoke complement each other at the end.
    • Taste

It starts really dry already with a lovely note of old wood. Really... that taste is a pleasure. A clear, bitter taste like macarons and grapefruit. The heather honey is back. A little spicy now with hints of nutmeg, smoke and a little hint of peat.
    • Finish
      90 90
Medium to long and dry. Old wood keeps lingering on. Lovely! Great spices like cloves and nutmeg, but also cinnamon. This is all complemented by oranges.

Tasty a rather "light" bottling, the sherry does not go through, but still pretty yummy. 50 € - you can buy.
    • Nose
takes some time and a drop of water to open, then fruity, applesauce, pear compote, mirabelle, a touch Haribo-bear, vanilla, a little cinnamon, white chocolate, marzipan
    • Taste
creamy, sweet, milk chocolate, overripe banana ... for a long time in the mouth some white pepper, Ricola herbal sugar
    • Finish
medium-long, spicy-kräutrig, white pepper, ricola, a hint of licorice, cough drops

Nice legs, but very thin mouth feel. Is quite suggestive, doesn't hit you in the face like some other whiskies. Give it time, explore it, find out what's down there.
Recommendable if you find it on offer.
    • Nose
Fresh, clean, apples, fruits like after spring/summer rain slightly wet but bursting with taste, weeee hint of acidity but in a good way. Vanilla. Coolness.

With water: the sherry influence comes through. Sherry with apples. Wee hint of marzipan, but very subtle.
    • Taste
Fresh and clean. Green apples. Light peat, a bit of smoked eel. Flatbread from Wasa. Woody sweetness, like maple syrup. Fried egg ... of all things, the white bit at least. Light hint of lychee. Wet grass. Paper napkin (yes, I've eaten a paper napkin before).
    • Finish
The green wet apples lingers, but else the finish is rather short.

With water: the sherry cask lingers a bit, same with the marzipan.

These DE Dalwhinnies are always delightlfull and bang-for-your-buck.
    • Nose
Maltiness. Cereal. Dried flowers, moss and leafy. Also some herbal notes. Even a whiff of smoke. The oak is more present than in the standard 15y old.
    • Taste
Sweetmess of vanilla and dried bananas. Honey. Resinous.Toffee. Smooth oakiness. Light peat at the background.
    • Finish
Not that long. A little pepper. Liquorice. Slightly tanninic. Hints of sweet sherry. A bit thin.
