N- Buttery with refine honey. Glorious crusted almond and chocolate developed with soothing farm-y nuance linger.

P- Nutty with greenish tinge. Fresh grassy notes with ester on the rise. Return with scents of cardboard.

F- Medium long, spent matches, more almond extract with fine peppery remains.

    Ben Nevis 1990/2006, 58.3%, M & H, Taste Still Selection, cask 2712, 313 bottles - Highland
The beautiful complex nose gives stewed fruit, mint, (herbal) tea, almond, wood, wax and coffee. The alcohol percentage also provides a very strong taste, which show bitter (resin) mixed with sweet (honey, vanilla, stewed fruit). And here too a nice waxy touch. Medium, sweet aftertaste. Tasty solid Ben Nevis who does not need water, and after the Ben Nevis 1996 from Malts of Scotland a second pleasant meeting with this distillery. 87/100 http://onversneden.com/2010/03/11/ben-nevis-1990-mh-taste-still-selection/

If this mouth was a bit less bitter and hot, it would be a little slaughter. Very expressive and evolved for a whisky so young. In any case, the combination of flavors / flavors is unusual but works well.
    • Nose
Initially quite tense, on the flint, the flint, a mineral side almost on the smoke. Then the second nose is more fruity. Although it is melted, it seems to identify some exotic fruits. And finally, after several minutes, we arrive on a nose that will not evolve, mainly marked by organic notes: floral, herbaceous, but also seaweed and always this minerality.
    • Taste
The attack is superb. Full of exoticism, very old wood, spices, espresso and lots of wax (that really makes me think of an old piece of furniture). In the middle of the mouth, it becomes a bit more bitter (apricot kernel) and a salty side, a little annoying for my taste, also appears. It's also getting hotter.
    • Finish
      Long, hot, spicy, woody ...
