Whisky Reviews for Laphroaig Quarter Cask
10 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.80 points
- A great expression of a young NAS whisky.
(Rating interval 85-88)
Peat smoke, deli meat, smoked salty ham, iodine, citrus, i think it's lemon juice and white sugar.
Full-bodied, great texture. The peat is not as strong as suggested from the nose. Oak wood, vanilla, pepper corns and soil.
The finish is long and substantial with sweet smoky barbecued meat and cracked black pepper.
- Expansive and complex.
Rich heavy nose with a vague floral touch.
Smooth for the strength. Creamy with an ashy dryness. Smoky.
Toffeish with a spicy burst. Smoke lingers.
- Was aged for five years before being finished in a quarter cask for seven months, the size of the cask is quite small, thus does not require such a long maturation.
- It's young and it feels. Below the Laphroaig PX but it remains an excellent value for money.
Very sweet, on wood, vanilla, smoke, caramel. It's very fat, a mixture of cream and herbs.
Cream, peat, caramel, plants and wood. It's young and it feels.
A little dry, vegetal, always peat and wood.
