Octave-casks have just once contents of approx. 45-68 litres what entails that a single cask bottling does not produce many bottles - in this case just once 73 bottles. On account of the low size of the Octave-casks, a whisky can spend here no long maturing period, the influence of the wood and his aromas is too big - because too much whisky has too much contact with the cask.
The Auchroisk matured for 22 years in a bourbon barrel, then the whisky came for another three months into a Sherry-Octave-Cask. The result is an Auchroisk with a lot of caramel, fruity aromas with light spicy marks.
