  1. Ostap scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

The barrel worked very hard here and it is difficult to find whisky in this drink. Very cognac.
    • Nose
Roasted peanuts in sugar glaze, cognac-wine, soft, earthy, boiled potatoes, potato pie, absolutely not alcoholic, background sweet fruits, raisins, malt, crust of fresh bread, apple with honey.
    • Taste
Rolls in waves, fire, pepper, fried potatoes with bacon, salt, mushrooms in sour cream.
    • Finish
Long, wavy, extinguishing fire, dry, bitter.

A good whisky where the fruit and the smoke fight for dominance.
Since my main taste is more in the direction of sherry, smoky whiskys don't get quite as many points for me, otherwise I would give 10 points more here, where I would probably end up on average.

Sweet and fruity pleasantly blended with peat smoke.
    • Taste

I also taste what I smell, the smoke is not too dominant.
    • Finish

Long as usual for smoky whiskys. Here, too, everything you smell and taste is preserved.
But now the peat smoke has a slight edge, the sweetness hides far back in the throat, the smoke stays alive in the mouth.

Interesting whisky by MMD. Bonuspoints for the complexity, but the palat has killed it for me after a few drams. Liked it more initially.
    • Nose
Moderately strong peat smoke, but very little iodine. More of a partially dried campfire. The bourbon casks are noticable after a while. Pronounced wine aromas with lots of berries.
    • Taste
Naphtaleen (mothballs), sweet and prickly tanginess. Mango and grapes, which are overshadoed by the strong initial notes of mothballs and earthy peatiness.
    • Finish
Very drying like a good red wine.
