Rich vanilla, caramel and apple with a hint of butter and some peppery spice on the palate.

Moderate with some lingering spice and a puff of smoke. A pleasant dram but perhaps not commensurate of the hefty price tag.

The purchase is already a party, the packaging is phenomenal. The taste is complex, caramel, citrus, pepper and wood flavors.

N: Wood, pepper, sweet chilli, coffee, nutty Werther’s toffees. Elegant honey malt, very Highlandesque with a touch of Skye, [Talikser DE] and an endearing touch of sulphur, Bowmore vibe.

T: Vibrant sherry with a sulphur hit, but its - pleasant! Bitter wood, peppery and honeyed. The sweet sherry develops further and sustains. Everything is working well with good pace.
F: Coffee caramel slowly cuts through the wood with some consistent freshness hanging around till the end, joined with some saline and dry smoke with the sulphur lingering around the palate until your next drink or meal.
C: Despite the sulphur throughout, its otherwise well blended and vibrant with a balanced cohesiveness - and if you can get past the sulphur its tasty.

    scores a B-

Certainly a pleasant whisky but not really 'value for money'
    • Nose
I have a stimulating nose with a smoky character, also some heather, citrus, soft mint and then some vanilla. Nice and fresh.
    • Taste
I have some smoked ham, pepper on the tongue and some herbs. Then he becomes more fruity with apple and citrus. Not exactly complex.
    • Finish
      Medium finish, smoky and salty.

Color: Light honey, straw gold with shimmering highlights.

Nose: Soft, elegant & refined. Delicate aromas of crushed apple, pear and fresh pineapple arouse the senses. The spirit is exciting and vibrant with attractive notes of oak shavings that release hints of buttery vanilla, creamy caramel and nutmeg. A whisper of marmalade, cinnamon and even a tease of smoke, ginger and muscovado sugar completes this spectrum of delight.

Taste: With a generous strength of 47.3% this gives the spirit plenty of impact on the palate but in a mild warming manner. Harmonious and exhilarating. Whispers of gentle bonfire smoke slowly give way to spicy rich toffee, treacle and pecan nuts. These enticing flavours linger lovingly on the palate but are soon combined by a sensual, complex array of creme brulee, orange rind and freshly baked bread. It is a remarkable tapestry of tantalising taste sensations which truly rewards the palate
