Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 2002 LS

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.20 points

  1. aphex scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

Another very good young Bruich... Port Charlotte. It kept improving with aeration in the bottle... which is now down.
    • Nose
Peat smoke and coastal notes. Camphor, tar, mint and lemon.
    • Taste
Peat, ashes, spices (pepper, ginger, camphor) and lemon. No changes with water.
    • Finish
      Long, salty, zesty.

  2. Malt Hans scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

    Smoky

and fruity aroma, apple, lemon, tar, nutmeg, walnut and cinnamon,

Vanilla sweet and tary taste, sweet mustard, anise, pepper, grapefruit,

mint, resin, burnt almonds and malt. Long, smoky, fruity and spicy end.

    Port Charlotte or
simply a heavily peated Laddie. Who will tell? Who cares? This is a young, but
very sturdy whisky. Thanks to Jeroen at Whiskysamples (where it is still
available) for the near empty bottle.
    • Nose

      Well, the are totally
different. The nose of this (let us call it) Bruichladdich shows a whole lot of
peat, the good stable scents, plasticine, cough syrup and a hefty helping of
fresh mint. Vanilla and lemon and even some crystal sugar in the background. Very
clean and creamy and in my opinion a whole lot better than the slightly sourish
      PC9.
    • Taste

      It is soft on the
palate with sweet peat, ashes and loads of vanilla. Very spicy too. Camphor, pepper, ginger, liquorice and some chili. It
cannot hide its young age, though, but dares you to critisize it. Midpalate,
      citrus rears its head.
    • Finish

      The finish is long
and zesty with a salty tang at the very end.
